Gruesome Murder in Hubballi: Youth Stabbed Over 30 Times by Miscreants
Hubballi: The city has witnessed a brutal murder on Friday night, a 23 year old youth was hacked to death by a group of six-seven individuals. The murder happened at Gopankoppa Circle in Ashok Nagar police station limits, the murder, according to the police was over financial matter and old grudge.
The 23-year-old victim, Shivaraj, was attacked with deadly weapons, receiving over 30 stab wounds, leading to his death at the spot.
Three suspects were taken into custody later that night. Two of them provided information about the remaining accused. And informed the police that they would take the police to their place. When the police took them to Old Hubballi Railway Quarters based on this information, the accused attempted to attack the officers and tried to flee.
In response, police shot the two suspects, Sudeep and Kiran, in the leg to prevent their escape and arrested them.
Six injured police officers and the accused are being treated at KIMS hospital.
It is reported that 5-6 more people were present at the crime scene. The victim’s family has filed a case stating that Sudeep, Kiran, Karthik, and Abhishek were involved in the murder.
Preliminary investigations suggest this was a premeditated crime. Even the family members are unsure of the exact reason behind the incident.
It is said that a quarrel occurred among friends when they visited the Yellamma Temple in Saundatti a few days ago.
Shivaraj was brutally killed, with five or six machete strikes to the head and over 30 stab wounds to his body.
Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar informed that a comprehensive investigation will be conducted, and the remaining accused will be arrested and brought to justice.
